With just a few weeks left before school starts in Portland, various organizations organize back-to-school events, and supplies are being collected to distribute to students in the Portland area. 

 

While there are still many things to do, such as sleep in and stay up late, parents should also keep an eye on the back-to-school activities happening in the area. We've rounded up a few potential events for you to check out before the kids return to class!

 

B2S Ready with MUJI in Portland

Join MUJI for an exclusive shopping event to prepare for the upcoming semester. There will also be giveaways and promotions. Attendees will receive 20% off all purchases, a free snack bar, and exclusive giveaways throughout the event. Plus, get your photo taken in a fun yearbook-themed photo booth!

 

Urban League for Us All: Back-to-School Braid Out

The event is designed to provide families with school-aged children with various resources. It's focused on meeting the needs of Black and brown kids in the Portland Metro region. Some of the activities that will be included include a school supply drive, haircuts/braiding, and free backpacks.

 

EmpowerED: Back to School Supply Giveaway at BPI's Family Fun Day

The Back to School Giveaway for the Black community is a community event that aims to support and celebrate those who are starting their educational journey. It will be held at the Family Fun Day concert of BPI. The event will feature various activities that will help promote a sense of unity and enthusiasm in the community.

 

Back to School with Friends of the Children - Portland

If you're in a position to donate this year, please consider this one! Friends of the Children are gearing up for the school year ahead. They're asking the community to donate school supplies through August 25th. You can also make a cash gift or donate at a benefit concert with At The Garages, which will be held August 18-20.
